GET INVOLVED

WITH THE STUDENTS' UNION!

There are several ways to get involved in the Capilano Students' Union:

  • Come and be a part of the CSU events, campaigns and activities
  • Become and active member of one of the Students' Union standing committees
  • Run for an elected executive position of the Students' Union in the Fall or Spring elections
  • Run for an elected position of the Board of Governors or Senate
  • Seek appointment to the University committee through the CSU University Relations Committee
  • Form a student club
  • Attend the CSU's general meetings
  • Vote for students to work on your behalf at the Students' Unon
  • Become a representative on a BC government committee on post-secondary education

If you need more than purely altruistic motives to spur you on, keep in mind that several of the opportunities above can result in valuable experience that you can put on your resume. The CSU will provide letters of reference for its volunteers upon request.

The most common reason that students give for not participating in their union is that they don't know much about it. Here's what the CSU does to help you find out:

  • We put up hundreds of posters every month with notices of committee meetings and other special events.
  • We do not have access to the master list of all Capilano University student email addresses, so if you give us yours, we will be able to keep you in the loop!
  • If you come to the Front Office during the day, there is always a staff person or Board member around you can talk to. Feel free to drop in an ask questions, express your point of view and find out what's happening on campus this week.
  • Don't forget to check our website frequently and staying familiar with our event calendar.
