UNIVERSITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE
The University Relations Committee meets once per month with student representatives from Presidential Advisory Committees to facilitate collegial relationship building, policy development, and make recommendations involving university relationships.
What are Presidential Advisory Committees (PAC)?
Capilano University is governed with the assistance and input of several advisory committees. The Capilano Students' Union (CSU) has representation on several general University committees, as do members of the staff, faculty, and administration. This is known as the Collegial Model of governance.
Who serves on these committees?
Any student can be appointed to one of these committees - you don't need to run in an election, just visit the CSU if you are interested in participating. Appointed CSU representatives inform the University of the students' rights and advocate for students' interests through these committees. All of the student reps meet with each other roughly once per month, and file written reports with the CSU.
This is an excellent opportunity to improve students' quality of life and to learn more about how Capilano University works. Student representatives are also eligible for a $35/month honorarium for attending meetings and filing reports and minutes. CSU representatives attend meetings of the following committees; a description of each committee is included in case you are interested in representing students.
